I am a Post-Doctoral Researcher in Astronomy at the Astronomical Observatory of Trieste (INAF) and work on studies of high-redshift quasars with the Espresso spectrograph at the VLT. The aim is to quantify a possible change of fundamental constants, in particular the fine structure constant.

During my Ph.D. in the ENIGMA group of Joseph F. Hennawi at the Max Planck Insitute in Heidelberg and at the University of California, Santa Barbara, I worked predominantely on quasars and their impact on the intergalactic medium.

I consider myself an observer, however during the last years I have also worked extensively with numerical simulations to develop a better understanding of phenomena I find in my observations. Using Bayesian statistic, I compare my models to the data to derive meaningful constraints on physical parameters, in particular the emission history and emission geometry of quasars.
